A few weeks ago Davis Freeberg posted an entry a couple of weeks ago with regards to TiVo selling their products at Radio Shack. Well today the official announcement came through. The press release can be found here.

At the moment the press release only seems to talk about the Series2 TiVo, so there is no word on whether they will be carrying Series3 when it comes out. On the bright side, they plan to start selling the PVR / DVR units in more than their 3000 US based stores. TiVo can also be found on Radio Shack’s web site here.

Although this announcement isn’t anything earth shattering, it is one more major outlet that will carry TiVo. Pretty soon you will start seeing TiVo in every store that you shop at.

As a follow up to the CNet article I posted about yesterday, Marguerite wrote her own follow up with regards to the problems she was having with Time Warner. After getting a third box, it turned out that the issue wasn’t so much the DVR as much as it was the signal strength coming in over her cable line.

For anyone who uses a lot of bandwidth through their cable provider (think Internet service + HDTV) you may want to check out this story, its good food for thought.
